The Learning Spanish Like Crazy program is an audio only course. If your learning style is more audio (listening) based as opposed to visual and kinesthetic (touch and feel) then this course will work for you. Perfect for the busy person who can put on their headphones, plug into their audio player, and learn the language while exercising, driving, etc.

 

 It is delivered by native Spanish speakers with a Latin American accent. This is the type of Spanish spoken in Central and South America which is different than that spoken in Spain and to some extent Mexico.

 

 The course is organized in 30 lessons which are each 30 minutes in duration. There is a Level 1 program as well as a Platinum upgrade program. The Level 1 course is available as a CD package which is mailed as well as an mp3 format which can be immediately downloaded. The Platinum package has the Level 1 material plus 5 additional courses developed by the FSI – Foreign Service Institute of the Department of State. These were developed to help diplomats, DEA and CIA agents, military personnel, etc. learn Spanish fast before heading to Latin America. The Platinum Course FSI courses are in CD format only.

 

 LSLC came out with a Level 2 course in 2006. It is called Learning Spanish Like Crazy Nivel Dos which takes your Spanish to the next level. There are 30 more lessons each 30 minutes just like Level1. It is delivered with 2 bonus sections and a bonus DVD. This course uses native Spanish speakers, as well, and dives into areas like the conditional tense and the subjunctive mood.

The Level 1 material gives a good basic introduction to Spanish. It will definitely give you the basics of the language in a great 30 minute each format. If you desire to learn Spanish at the intermediate and advanced levels and decide to upgrade to Level 2 the same 30 minute “chunk” format is used which is an effective style to learn Spanish.
